A ScreenPal alternative with no time cap and nothing to install

ScreenPal is a screen recorder and video platform with a downloadable recorder, hosting, quizzes and stock media, and its free recorder adds no watermark. Shycut runs in your browser with nothing to install, keeps every recording on your device, and includes the editing jobs that ScreenPal keeps for paid plans: captions, silence cuts and blurring.

When ScreenPal is the better choice

If you teach and want quizzes, polls and channels around your videos, or need to record your phone’s own screen with an iPhone or Android app, ScreenPal offers that and Shycut does not. Its hosting gives you a share link right after recording, and its paid plans add storyboards, scripts, a teleprompter and a stock library.

The downloaded recorder also works offline, adds no watermark and needs no account. If your recordings stay under 15 minutes and you don’t need captions or computer sound, the free plan may be all you need.

When Shycut is the better choice

If you are on a computer where you can’t install software, Shycut records in the browser without an account, and the video never goes to a hosting service: ScreenPal’s own browser recorder asks you to log in and opens the result in its hosting. Every recording is written to your device as it happens, so a crash doesn’t lose it.

It also gives you, free, the jobs ScreenPal puts on paid plans: recordings longer than 15 minutes, tab or system sound, captions, silence cuts and blurring. Faces in a video call are found with one tap, and the camera stays a layer you can move or hide until you export.

Questions

Does Shycut host my videos or give me a link?

No. Shycut has no servers that store videos. You download the MP4 and share it however you like, for example in a chat, by email, on a drive or on YouTube.

Is there a time limit on recordings?

No time limit and no watermark from us. The only limit is free space on your device, and Shycut warns you when only a few minutes of space are left.

Can I record my phone’s screen with Shycut?

No. Phone browsers don’t let websites capture the screen, so screen recording needs a computer with current Chrome or Edge. On a phone you can record your camera and edit videos you filmed.

Can I edit a ScreenPal recording in Shycut?

Yes. Save the recording as an MP4, open it in Shycut and cut pauses, add captions or blur faces on your own device. The result is an ordinary MP4 again.

Your video stays with you.

Open Shycut, drop the video in and export. Free, with no account, and your video never leaves your device.
