Wide, so it stays a video
On a computer YouTube’s standard shape is 16:9, and a square or vertical video up to 3 minutes is filed as a Short. The button makes a 16:9 frame: a vertical phone video sits whole in the middle on a blurred copy of itself, so nothing is cut off.
15 minutes is the default limit. Past it, YouTube asks you to verify your account, after which a video can run up to 12 hours; Shycut’s editor says when your edit runs over, so you know before you upload.
What the button sets up
- A 16:9 frame
- A tall video is set whole inside it on a blurred copy of itself, so nobody’s head is cut off; a wide one simply fills it. Made full HD.
- Its length, checked as you trim
- The Size tab says whether your edit is a length it takes: up to 15 min (Up to 12 h for verified accounts). The save window says it again before anything is made.
- No size limit set
- 256 GB is more than a video from Shycut comes to, so the size field is left empty.
- On your device
- The video opens in this browser tab and is made there. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no size limit on the original.
