Most videos already fit
LinkedIn takes shapes from 1:2.4 – 2.4:1, which covers the shapes phones and cameras film, upright or wide. So the button keeps your video’s own shape, and checks the thing that does trip people up: length.
A post runs from 3 seconds to 15 minutes. A screen recording of a talk or a product demo can pass the limit; trim it in the editor, where the Size tab shows the length against LinkedIn’s.
What the button sets up
- Your video’s own shape
- LinkedIn takes anything from 1:2.4 to 2.4:1, so a phone or camera video stays as filmed; one outside that is cut to the closest shape that fits.
- Its length, checked as you trim
- The Size tab says whether your edit is a length it takes: at least 3 s and up to 15 min. The save window says it again before anything is made.
- No size limit set
- 5 GB is more than a video from Shycut comes to, so the size field is left empty.
- On your device
- The video opens in this browser tab and is made there. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no size limit on the original.
