X states these limits on its developer pages, which say the caps on a posted video match the app’s.

20 minutes, or longer with Premium

X takes any shape from 1:3 – 3:1, so a vertical, square or wide video goes up as filmed; the button keeps it and checks the length. A posted video can run 20 minutes, and 2 hours 5 minutes for Premium or verified accounts.

X recommends 1280 × 720 for a wide video and 720 × 1280 for an upright one, and says subscribers get 1080p playback for a 1080p upload. Shycut keeps your video’s own size, so a 1080p phone video stays 1080p.

What the button sets up

Your video’s own shape
X takes anything from 1:3 to 3:1, so a phone or camera video stays as filmed; one outside that is cut to the closest shape that fits.
Its length, checked as you trim
The Size tab says whether your edit is a length it takes: at least 0.5 s and up to 20 min (Up to 2 h 5 min with Premium). The save window says it again before anything is made.
No size limit set
8 GB is more than a video from Shycut comes to, so the size field is left empty.
On your device
The video opens in this browser tab and is made there. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no size limit on the original.
