DJI Osmo Action 4 recording time
The Osmo Action 4 records at up to 130 Mbps, about 58.5 GB an hour, and has no storage of its own. Here is how long each card it takes holds at that bitrate.

How long the Osmo Action 4 records
| Storage | At the highest bitrate (130 Mbps) |
|---|---|
| 64 GB | At least 1 h 5 min |
| 128 GB | At least 2 h 11 min |
| 256 GB | At least 4 h 22 min |
| 512 GB | At least 8 h 45 min |
DJI gives only the camera’s highest bitrate, so these are the shortest times: every other mode uses fewer bits and records longer.
The list stops at 512 GB, the largest card DJI says the camera takes. Cards are counted as their makers count them (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes) and keep a little room for themselves.
At the highest bitrate
- A minute
- 975 MB of card space.
- An hour
- 58.5 GB.
- Each gigabyte
- About 1 min 1 s of video.
What DJI says
Picking a card for the Action 4
Everything goes on the card: DJI says the Action 4 has no built-in storage, and takes microSD up to 512 GB. At 130 Mbps that largest card holds at least 8 hours 45 minutes.
A 64 GB card fills in about 1 hour 5 minutes at the top bitrate, which a long ride or a day out can pass. A larger card, or a lower mode for the parts that don’t need it, keeps you recording.

Questions
How long does a 128 GB card last on the Osmo Action 4?
At least 2 hours 11 minutes at its highest bitrate (130 Mbps).
What is the largest card the Action 4 takes?
microSD up to 512 GB, says DJI’s spec page.
Why does my card last longer than this?
These times are at the highest bitrate; most modes use fewer bits, so the same card records longer.
