DJI Osmo Action 6 recording time
The Osmo Action 6 starts with storage of its own: at its top bitrate, 120 Mbps, that is at least 55 minutes 33 seconds before a card goes in, and a 128 GB card adds at least 2 hours 22 minutes. Every card up to 1 TB, and the battery, below.

How long the Osmo Action 6 records
| Storage | At the highest bitrate (120 Mbps) |
|---|---|
| Built-in (50 GB usable) | At least 55 min 33 s |
| 64 GB | At least 1 h 11 min |
| 128 GB | At least 2 h 22 min |
| 256 GB | At least 4 h 44 min |
| 512 GB | At least 9 h 28 min |
| 1 TB | At least 18 h 31 min |
DJI gives only the camera’s highest bitrate, so these are the shortest times: every other mode uses fewer bits and records longer.
The list stops at 1 TB, the largest card DJI says the camera takes. Cards are counted as their makers count them (1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes) and keep a little room for themselves.
How long can the Osmo Action 6 record?
- The card
- A 128 GB card holds at least 2 hours 22 minutes at the highest bitrate; the table above has every size.
- The battery
- DJI rates one battery at 240 minutes (4 hours), measured at 1080p and 24 fps with RockSteady on and Wi-Fi, voice and gesture control and the screens off: the best case, so plan for less.
- Whichever comes first
- A long take stops at the shorter of the two. A bigger card doesn’t help once the battery is the limit; a power bank or a spare battery does.
At the highest bitrate
- A minute
- 900 MB of card space.
- An hour
- 54 GB.
- Each gigabyte
- About 1 min 6 s of video.

Rides that outlast a card
DJI says the Action 6 has 64 GB built in, 50 GB of it free for video. Add a microSD card of up to 1 TB, the largest it takes, for at least 18 hours 31 minutes more at 120 Mbps, about 54 GB an hour.
DJI rates one battery at 240 minutes, measured at 1080p and 24 fps. Long rides come home as hours of footage; Shycut edits them as a motovlog, with wind noise cut and plates hidden, on your own device.
